Using Dropbox

Working With Dropbox

First: DO NOT right-click on each image and save to your computer.

Here’s how to get your pictures from Dropbox.  If you are having issues, please read this whole page and follow the instructions.  Dropbox is not difficult, but it is evidently confusing to some people.

– You do not need to download or install Dropbox on your system.
– You do not need to have anything except a web browser and the e-mail I sent you.
– DO NOT right-click on each image and save!

  • In the e-mail I sent you, there’s a link.  It’ll look something like this.

  • Click the link to open my Dropbox page in a browser, just like you open any other web-page.
  • It should look something like this with three folders, which are the three different sizes of images you can download.

  • Click on the size you want to view or download.
  • You will be taken to a page showing a series of small, square thumbnail images — do not right-click and download these thumbnails.  DO NOT.  These are low-res, low-quality thumbnails.
  • Again: DO NOT right-click and save each crappy thumbnail to your computer.
  • At the top right there’s a big, blue Download button.  If you click that, the Dropbox site will package all those images up into one ZIP file and your browser will download them for you.
  • It will save this file to your local computer and have all of the images inside of it.  Where it’s saved depends a lot on your browser and your operating system, but there should be an icon in your browser’s status bar telling you to click to open.
  • You must take the files out of this ZIP file — for some reason our MLS will not allow you to upload directly from inside the zip file.
  • Have I mentioned that you SHOULD NOT right-click and download each crappy thumbnail?
