On my system I run anti-virus and anti-malware software. Every so often trying to get to a website a warning pops up. Sometimes I listen, sometimes I know better and proceed.
But there are some websites — like the people who pretend to be Microsoft support — that are all bad, all the time.
Why isn’t the ability to block those sites built into our routers and updated on an hourly or daily basis. Surely they could halt routing traffic to those sites instantaneously and inform you of why.
Is this just not done because the anti-virus and anti-malware makers want to sell 10,000,000 licenses instead of a few to ISPs and router makers?
If a router were designed with this feature in it, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
